The USB Type C is a Thunderbolt 3 port. The lightning sign next to it indicates a charging feature. Any device connected to this port will continue charging even after the notebook has been switched off. The USB Type A port on the same side also features the same capability. The Type A on the other side however doesn't have this capability.
