“Warranty Clarification Before Upcoming Purchase For my upcoming purchase, the question all comes down to the warranties and whether or not to buy new or refurbished. So, obviously a new laptop comes with HP's warranty. I know that. But what exactly does it cover? I'm assuming if anything goes wrong, that was not accidental damage would be covered.... ? And from the research I did, looks like the warranty is for a year. Is that correct? As for a refurbished laptop, with a Geek Squad warranty, what exactly does that warranty cover and for how long? I've been told the warranty lasts 90 days, 6 months, a year. Which is it? I guess bottom line, what's the difference between the two? And while staying within my budget, should I spend $500 on a new laptop with less features and an HP warranty or is it worth spending the same amount to get a refurbished one with lot's more features but with the Geek Squad warranty?”
