This is an excellent question! I wondered the exact same thing! Now, I have an answer for you. When you enroll online for the program, it will tell you that you will get your first set of HP Instant Ink cartridges in about 10 days. Your Instant Ink program (free months and/or charges) won't start until you actually install one of those new cartridges into your printer though. Once you print something on your new printer (with the cartridges it came with), a message will pop up telling you that your Instant Ink program has now been officially set up. From that point, you'll get a set of cartridges in about 10 days. Just put them up until you need them. Once you install one or both of them, your program officially starts. That's when your free 3 months actually begins and then on the 4th month following that is when you'll be charged the appropriate monthly fee. If you chose a larger plan than you find that you really need, just change the plan before the charges begin. If you didn't choose a large enough plan, also upgrade to avoid any additional charges. :-)
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I got my first ink just after installing the cartridges provided with the printer
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think I answered this wrong earlier. They only send you ink when you are low.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you run out of ink in the first month I am impressed first of all. Took me around 6 months to need my first ink replacement. Second, they will replace it as fast as you use it. The printer anticipates the ink getting low and HP will send out a new one. There's no limit to the ink, just the amount of pages, and even if you go up in pages they just charge you more.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No HP knows when you are low on ink, but you will be charged your monthly fee.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, you won't get anymore ink until your ink gets low. When that happens your printer will order the ink for you.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I recommend contacting the HP Instant ink at 1-855-785-2777 for any program questions.
