No, just put the old cartridges in the trash. No worries. HP keeps up with your needs. They send ink when you need it without you having to do anything. I just love it. No more running out of ink or having going to the store

While returning them isn't _required_ we really strongly encourage you to do it, since it gives us a chance to reliably recycle them as part of HP's "zero waste stream" program, so nothing ends up in a landfill. With your first Instant Ink shipment, it should include a pre-addressed postage-paid envelope. You can drop the empty cartridges in, seal it up, and mail it back to us. You can also wait until the bag is full of empties before sending it.
