“USB ONLY? I would like clarification. we can set up with connected wifi/internet but then need to use in a location without wifi - will it work on USB only? And if we use in different locations (some wifi, some not) can we still enroll in the ink program?”

After 30 days my printer disabled itself and told me I must sign up for a cloud account and promised to keep it connected to the Internet. It is essentially bricked.

The HP Instant Ink program requires that the printer be connected to the internet (WiFi), so that HP knows when to send you the toner.
