• Hi Kathy, thank you for the question. Since this printer doesn't have a scanner, you'd use the HP Smart App with your smartphone, scan it, and send it to the printer. It's a great feature for intermittent scanning needs. If you scan more frequently, you might want to consider a printer with an onboard scanner, like the LaserJet M140we.
