• This laserjet actually uses toner, and not ink, but it uses four toner cartridges total: one black, one cyan, one yellow, and one magenta!

• The short answer is "none". This is a color laser printer and uses toner instead of ink. It requires 4 cartridges to operate the printer; black, magenta, yellow and cyan. BTW - I am very pleased with my printer and would recommend it to anyone.
