“Does this printer turn on automatically when a job is sent to it or do I have to manually turn it on before I print?”

• If you've got the machine on, it will go into a "slumber" mode until a job is sent to it. After printing, it will remain active for a while, then return to slumber until the next job comes through. If you've turned the machine off, it will not automatically turn back on.

• The printer goes into sleep state when not in use but it will wake up when a job is sent. I send emails that need printed from other places and it prints the jobs before I arrive home.
