what HP was discussing was that ink not to the specs of HP standard and not holding the same toner ingredients would clogged the inkjets or mechanism that dispenses toner to ensure print quality. big item was warranty and using third party ink nullifies your warranty, thus owner has a huge paper weight. yes the sensors built into an original toner ink are detected and you get a notification on the screen of ink status, do not get me wrong here third party may seem like it works well at first but life span is short lived. saving a few bucks is agreeable but to loose he warranty I do not think so.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you do ANY of HP firmware upgrades for your printers, be warned that in the upgrade it will prohibit you for using ANY other than HP toner/cartridges on your device. Just don't do the upgrade. Nothing wrong with the firmware you are using now. If you do the upgrade you will be "stuck" in purchasing HP only!!
