Yes you can. There is a 550 sheet lower tray available. It is a model D9P29A. You can google it to find it is for sale at various resellers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The M404DW printer already has 2 drawers. Drawer #1 is the manual feed drawer which can accept paper widths from 3" to 8.5" and length from 5" and up (long paper up to 14" hangs out over the top of the drawer lid). There is no removable tray for drawer #1. Envelopes can only be printed from Drawer #1. Up to 10 envelopes can be loaded at a time. Drawer #2 is the main drawer with a removable paper tray with a capacity of 250 pages. There is also a 100 page tray available for this drawer. It looks like a third drawer (550 page capacity) can be added to the printer but I haven't pursued this (see the User manual at: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06177490 I'm sure that this isn't the latest model printer of this type from HP, but is still available new (when I purchased it). I was interested in getting a great printer for the best price, not a just-released model with little or no track record.
