“I'm trying to replace an HP LaserJet 1100 on a Win 96 machine for my shop. We do have hardwire ethernet connections available, but I used to use printer cables. Will this work with such an old computer and an ethernet cable connection?”

• This HP LaserJet Pro M404n printer requires Windows 7, 8, or 10. This printer can connect via ethernet to a wired network. You can still use the USB cable with the printer connected to the computer also.

• If you upgrade to at least a windows 7 which is no longer supported by MS you’ll have much faster internet speed at lest 5x if you move up to a windows 10 you won’t regret it. But yes they do sell an adapter.
