It costed me $400 for factory standard toner.414A was recommended from Best Buy, so I purchased along with the printer. I own a small business and have been using it for a couple of weeks now and have not needed to replace the toner it came with.

I think they use the old Gillette razor pricing, price the razor low and hit them on the blades. There are off brand cartridges available but they don't some with the little chip in them that tell the printer they are HP cartridges.
