QuestionIs the color ink cartridges separate? Or always one cartridge so when one color is out you have to change the whole thing?

- Answer There are two ink cartridges that that this printer uses. It uses the HP 63 black and tricolor ink cartridges. You may have to change out the tricolor ink cartridge if it is out of one color. It will prompt you when it is time to change the ink cartridges.

- Answer Yes, this printer has AirPrint. You can use WiFi Direct. Wireless Direct (WiFi Direct) allows you to directly connect to printer from a mobile device or computer without the need for internet access or a wireless network. You would connect to the printer’s wireless direct signal just like you would connect to a wireless network. The printer would have a unique name in your wireless connections, i.e. Direct-04-Printer. - Answer Unfortunately, the OfficeJet 3830 does not have duplex, or two-sided printing capability. However, many HP models do have the ability to do two-sided printing.

- Answer You just need a standard phone cable like you'd use to connect a landline phone. The connector type is an "RJ11" so if you see that, it will work.

- Answer The OfficeJet 3830 and most other HP printers, do not need a connection to the internet in order to print from a cell phone or tablet. You can print directly with wifi direct where you connect your phone directly to the local wifi generated by the printer. The HP Smart app is available for IOS and Android devices (phones and tablets) and Windows 10 computers where you can print to the printer from anywhere. With the HP Smart app you can print, and scan & copy using the phones camera. To print from anywhere you would of course need an internet connection.

- Answer No, you do not need a computer to print. You can print just from your smartphone. You can either print when both devices are connected to the WiFi network or you can use WiFi Direct. Wireless Direct (WiFi Direct) allows you to directly connect to printer from a mobile device or computer without the need for internet access or a wireless network. You would connect to the printer’s wireless direct signal just like you would connect to a wireless network. The printer would have a unique name in your wireless connections, i.e. Direct-04-Printer. - Answer It should, because otherwise there is no way for the printer to receive the file. It needs to be connected to your wifi network for it to connect to your phone. Even if it does not connect directly to your phone, and you just email the document to your printer, the printer would still need to be part of your wireless network. - Answer No, this printer does not have a duplex. You would have to manually turn the pages to print on both sides. If you want a printer with a duplex, I would suggest looking at one of HP's Envy printers, or Officejet Pro printers.
