• Good question. You cannot use the ink from your OfficeJet 4620 on the OfficeJet 5740. The new printer uses different ink cartridges. It uses 1 HP 62 black cartridge and an HP 62 tricolor cartridge. The ink cartridges from the 4620 won't fit in the new printer and will damage the printer if you try to use it in there. I hope this helps.
