You are not required to enroll in Instant Ink, or Best Buy's Easy Replenish program. But both are great options for managing ink costs!

No. It is optional. Most new purchases have 3 months of a free trial that you should take advantage of.

No, you do not have to participate in that program. Depending on the type of usage you have, when you use your printer, you may like that program or you may not. As a teacher I chose not to participate in it. My reasoning is that during sometimes of the year I print alot, really, ALOT! And then there are other times of the year when I can print some of my stuff at school as opposed to needing to use my backup plan at home. If I come home and I need to print tests that are 4 pages long double-sided for a group of kids I need a printer that will let me do that and I don't have time to wait for ink delivery. So I buy the extra large cartridges in advance so I have them on hand so that I can stock up and be ready and not be dependent on somebody else determining when I'm going to need ink.
