QuestionInk - Can I continue to print black and white documents when the color cartridges are empty? Or are the color cartridges required for operation? Most of my work is black and white text letters.

- Answer This would not be the best choice for that use because you do need all the cartridges to be flowing in order not to damage the printheads. If you don't use the color at all the ink will dry up. If you never want to print in color again, that's fine, but you won't likely be able to print color in the future. And no, you can't print past the short grace period if the color cartridges are empty.

- Answer Thank you for taking the time to reach out. None of the current models use those inks. Your best bet would be to try and exchange them for your new printers ink if you recently bought them. Also note that any new printer will come with setup inks in the box which need to be used first in order to initialize the printer. Even if you found a printer that uses the same inks it is likely that by the time those inks were used, the ones you removed from your current printer may be dried out. I recommend checking out the HP Instant Ink service or Best Buy Easy Replenish which both give you the best deal on ink for your printer.

- Answer It works only wirelessly with MS 10. It also works wirelessly with iPhone and ipad. I imagine it would work with apple computers since there is a Mac OS driver available.

- Answer Yes, this OfficeJet Pro will auto duplex print; duplex scanning can only be accomplished through the document feeder (if you scan a two sided document on the flatbed, you would have to flip the page).

- Answer Yes. This is a network printer, and assuming your Apple Ipad is on your home network, it can print to this printer. Your Apple iPhone can print to it via HP ePrint, which sends an email to the printer telling it to print (at least I think that is how it works). Hope this helps.

- Answer I don't know if or how you can, because that feature is not an option on the HP smart app. I have attached a screenshot of the app, to show the 4 scan options that you'll have, which unfortunately doesn't include the scan to USB option. Hope that answers your question!

- Answer Yes. My favorite feature of HP printers is their software - Click on scan and pick your option, PDF, Photo or Email. BUT only if you have an email client on the system; cannot use with WEB based email - AOL, Yahoo, Hotmail and of course GMAIL.
