• It comes with what they call Setup size cartridges which I believe are smaller than standard.

• All printers come with setup cartridges to get you going. However, they are not usually full standard cartridges. Typically you will get 60-80% of a standard cartridge with an HP starter cartridge. With this printer that should give you several hundred pages, based on standard letter size.
