The HP Officejet does not have a top that lifts up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This printer has a fixed hinge, so you're not going to copy anything too thick without letting light in. That wont be an issue if you press the book firmly enough down to the bed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The top lifts up past vertical (stays put) to copy books, magazines, etc. You are able to scan using many formats. I typically scan to JPEG and use a photo-editing application to crop binding grey area and black over-scan. I then insert the cropped image into a word processor for review/reprinting.
