• Yes, and with the included IRIS program, you should be able to edit almost anything, although it never looks perfect from a scan into Word.

• No, most printers can only scan documents in PDF or various image formats such as JPG. Some printers have OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software included, such as the 8740 which is a few steps up from this one. OCR software will let you edit your scan similar to a Word document.
