“Does software come with the printer to view and operate the print / scan job from my computer?”

• The scanner software will send you the scanned document via email. I cannot recall if you get a scanned image outside of email. There is no preview of the scanned document, as you set the document in the document feeder or on the glass and initiate the scan from your device. I have been able to scan from a laptop and phone over a wireless network. I have not tried scanning or printing over the internet.
