Yes, you can scan up to 35 pages at a time, both sides in a single pass.
I don't know the maximum number of pages that can be scanned. However, I do know that you can use the document feeder to scan a multi page document and double sided scanning as well. Then the system asks if you want to add additional pages.

NO! It scans one side and stops scanning. This printer is flimsy and a distinct downgrade from the earlier and more reliable multi-purpose printers we have owned, such as the 8630.
