Yes you most certainly can upgrade the cpu to a ryzen 9th series. If you would like to know what all of your cpu options are (for price sake) then you can use the website pcpartpicker.com and simply add the motherboard and when looking through the cpu options it will ONLY DISPLAY COMPATIBLE CPU's this is a very valuable tool you can use.
