Yes any ram that is not purchased from HP themselves will have to be OC'ed to get their base speed from them. You have to use a program called Ryzen Master to do it. It is not difficult and there are a couple of YouTube videos on the process. The reason for this is because the bios is locked down by HP so you can not switch the ram to the XMP process.
