A:Answer Since both types are made by HP, OF COURSE they will be compatible with each other. However, a docking station will not magically give the computer an ability it would not have otherwise. For example, the USB-C ports on the laptop have 10Gbps signalling rate; if the docking station supports 20Gbps (or greater) connectivity, you will not suddenly have 20Gbps available to you.
