A:AnswerFirst, make sure it is updated to the newest audio drivers. If that doesn't improve things you might try either headphones or external speakers. The sound quality on mine is pretty good.
A:AnswerI cannot edit my previous answer but I checked the Settings and it appears that there is no option to select what the laptop does when the lid opens, only when it closes. However, I cannot think of any reason why someone would want to just open the lid without the laptop powering up. Perhaps that's why it always turns on when you open it.
