The total duty cycle for the entire lifetime of the printer is not listed, but I know that the monthly cycle for the 577dw is 80,000 pages, compared to 50,000 for the 477. It's a little hard to determine what the problem is that it "will not print clear copies", but if you haven't done so, you should try the different maintenance routines in the printer to see if it's something that's easily resolved.
