“Has anyone with the laptop have an issue with the audio going out after pausing a video? I pause a show and when I hit play there's no audio & I have to restart it. This happens on my YouTube, Spotify & other apps I watch.”

this must be related with drivers. Try to use hp support audio fix option, It must work. If it doesn't , remove the audio drivers and restart the pc. If still not, that might be hardware issue.
