If my power goes out is there a backup system? null

There isn't a backup power supply built into the computer, but you can get an external one that plugs into the outlet and the the computer and other necessary hardware plugs into. Depending on the capacity of the battery backup and how much you have plugged into it, you should have enough reserve to continue working (I've got a large unit that lets me work half an hour with everything up and running). But even a small one will give you enough time to get the computer shut down safely and properly.
