“We are looking for an entry level computer for my son who plays a lot of Fortnite and games on Steam, as well as YouTube.. Is this an acceptable option? If not, what do you guys recommend? This price range is the area I am in but with +/- dollars as well.”

there are really strong systems out there. This system does well watching internet movies and live TV. You can step into this platform and add more active memory later if the 8 gig is not enough.
