The short answer is yes, though reviewing one of the community answers, there's some incredibly valid information we'd like to agree with: best performance will come from like-branded components. An AMD Radeon graphics card will perform better and smoother with an AMD processor, while Intel can more comfortably swap between the two. An AMD Radeon RX 580 would be a great alternative to a 1050, though depending on what you're wanting to be able to do/accomplish, the integrated Vega graphics may be enough!

However, over the years I've had better performance and smoother integration sticking with AMD cards (Radeon) with AMD processors (Ryzen). Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to put down nVidia, I've had great success running their products in other machines, but always run into conflicts running them with AMD processesors. Both have run good for me with intel processors, but the AMD processor/video card paired together has always worked better for me. I have to admit, its been awhile since the last time I tried mis-matching processor & video manufacturers and things may have changed, but with this being a general purpose base computer that does game to an extent, i'd stick to upgrading the already well supported onboard Radeon to another Radeon product.
