This should be compadible with all AM4 processors. You dont have to upgrade the CPU with the GPU obviously, but if you would like to you should probably go up to a ryzen 7 5800x or another high end ryzen 5000 series processor as the 7000 series is incompadible. With that said the 5600, 5600G, and 5600X are all solid mid-tier CPU's for gaming without paying for a more expensive 5800x, 5900x, 5950X or a 5950x3D.
