They're not going to be quite as "soft" as a laptop keys, but almost. It's much closer to a laptop keyboard than a desktop one.

I specifically purchased this keyboard because I was frustrated by the less-than-stellar keyboard on on older Toshiba laptop which resulted in missed keystrokes and errors. I'm very happy with the function so far. No more 'cussin at the keyboard!
