It does have Bluetooth installed, so as long as your hotspot also has that, you can tether the two devices together. Switching from S Mode to regular Windows 10 mode is fairly simple, but it's beyond the scope of what can be answered here. However, if you search for "convert Windows S mode", you'll find a link from Microsoft explaining exactly how to do it. For a non-computer savvy person, I think this would be a good choice-it's a good basic laptop without a lot of the frills that a basic user would probably never use.
