To the best of my knowledge Best Buy gives 15 days to return (holiday and member warranties may have longer return times). The item is listed with a 1 year limited parts and labor warranty. I was able to purchase a 4 year replacement plan for $6.99. If you purchase a geek squad protection plan you bring it in store, no shipping etc. and they usually swap out the item if it can't be repaired. If the item is no longer available they usually give a gift card worth the replacement value of the item so you can purchase similar. If the manufacturer warranty is a year the geek squad protection enables you to avoid deductible, shipping and handling, wait time. If you purchase a longer warranty then it would be considered an extension after the first year. There are repair and replace plans, accidental repair and replace plans so read carefully what is offered. Not all items have the protection plan as an option.
