They are different, ports, reader types.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes...it can be confusing. It does have a SD card reader though it's not clearly visible. It's at the side of the laptop but you have to use your fingernail to drag the tray out from underneath. I wish it was more prominent at the side. Also has a smart card reader.
