I use my once every 2 months and I don’t have a problem.

Six months may be pushing it, depending on the environmental conditions (for example, is it going to be really hot and dry when you're not using the home and presumably not running the air conditioner). Either way, you'll want to run the cleaning utility in the printer before first using it after that exteneded a period of non-use. Another option would be a color laser printer, which are much more tolerant of not being used for extended periods of time.
