I use the app that hp provides you access to for free. Yes, for free. I can fax, copy, print, do a lot and when you send a document to print it describes and ask how many copies. Read each line and you will see.

You can set the number of copies by pressing the black or color copy button multiple times. You can find the legend for the lights on page 4 of the User Manual. If you don't have it, you can download it from the HP Support website. A flashing light means that the corresponding function needs to be reset. Lights not flashing may be addressed by resetting the printer. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Remove the USB cable, if present. Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge. Now plug the power cable straight into a wall outlet without any surge protector or extension cord (this is important) and then plug the power cord into the printer. Turn on the printer and wait until the warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle. Update the printer firmware.
