This printer uses Ink Bottles, Not Ink Cartridges. I have been told that the ink bottles last a Lot Longer, which would be great dollar-wise. BUT, I found this Smart Tank bottled type of ink to be sub-quality compared to OfficeJet cartridge ink. This bottled ink took a lot longer to dry, and therefore smeared to some degree with each of the 15 photos that I printed. It also produced an "Exaggerated" vs. Natural quality of printed ink when printing color photos vs. black ink documents were fine.
