The fan noise kicks in quite often and seems to have 3 distinct volumes. slow medium fast. The fan noise is okay however when they are spinning fast, a high pitched noise is created which can be irritating.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The fan can work its way up to a moderately loud high pitched noise when streaming movies. I have not noticed the noise with light use like browsing unless I block the vents.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Under normal use I don't hear the intake fans much at all. If you are using it on your lap then it will be louder if the intake vents are on/near your legs since they have to work harder to pull cooler air. I find that the Spectre is small enough that I can rest it on one leg which then places the vents just a little on either side and lets it breathe pretty good. Under heavy use the fans will get noisy even if the intakes are clear.
