• lusew, responding to your follow-up question, the easiest thing to do is get an external DVD drive to download your programs from your CD's/DVD's.

• I'm not talking about files, I know how to do that. I have programs on my current HP laptop that were downloaded via a DVD/CD but I don't see that this laptop has that capability.
