I personally haven't yet purchased a stylus for my Spectre x360 (great laptop so far!), but Lisa from Mobile Tech Review did a pretty thorough stylus demonstration in her video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4PMPjxQly1s.

I would advise you NOT to get the HP Active pen, but instead buy the Dell; the latter provides a smoother writing experience. I can see that a digital artist would likely be happier with the Surface Pro or Cintique, but for simple text input with the pen the Spectre works wonderfully.

One Note and Drawboard PDF occasionally miss strokes, and unfortunately the HP Active Pen works with only one teeny AAAA Battery, so I'd recommend picking up a few extra if you're going to be traveling or what have you. You can see it in action on Mobile Tech Review, Lisa does a great review specifically for the pen. Note: Originally I purchased the x360 with a passive stylus, and I would strongly recommend against it. Unless you want to draw like a finger painter, an active pen is the way to go.
I would recommend:
