It really shouldn't matter too much. Modern batteries can handle more off and on or charging than older ones but all batteries have a useable life in regards to how long they can charge and discharge. The computer starts up so fast I just shut mine down every time, 4 seconds is short enough for me to wait to start up. However for the sake of keeping apps open and ready to go leaving it in sleep is perfectly fine, or you can choose hybrid sleep (a state between sleep and hibernate) if you want more power savings.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'll can't tell the difference. I would bet it is virtually the same. The boot time is similar. I tend to turn it off at night, otherwise just shut the lid. The battery life is so good (compared to laptops).
