I would think it would have to do with either not having the proper driver or the power draw is too much for the port, but I would think it would have come with a dedicated PS. Are the ones you tried compatible with thunderbolt. Thunderbolt is not a USB port but uses PCIe. It theoretically should work if its designed to be thunderbolt compatible. Please post what wound up working as I'm curious myself.

I asked the sales rep for his advice and he recommended one last dock. I as if we could try it on a similar model and it worked. I brought it home, tried it and it did not work. Brought it back and asked Geek Squad to check the thunderbolt ports-they did not work! This particular unit was an open box rated as excellent, but someone forgot to use the software to reactivate the ports. They were very busy so I asked for credit to purchase a sister unit without oled, but had a gen 10 i7 Spectre and it works instantly with any dock. My decision was based on the ongoing frustration of the ordeal and learning that oled screens can permanently burn in an image into the screen if it is on the screen for a long time (think taskbar). Anyway Best Buy stood behind the product and the manager, customer service and Geek Squad personnel were fantastic at the Best Buy in Oswego, IL.
