You can also use either one of the two USB-C connectors on the HP Specter laptop computer; they both support Thunderbolt 4. The Thunderbolt 4 standard includes data or video (one or the other at a time). If your external monitor supports Thunderbolt 4 (unlikely*), you're good. Otherwise, you can procure a USB-C to DisplayPort (Male to Male) adapter—but that would not beat using HDMi. If your external monitor's resolution is not huge, HDMi (also supported on the HP Specter laptop computer) will probably do the trick nicely. Be mindful of using a good quality cable, i.e., not the HDMi cable that came with your old cable box from Comcast. *Most monitors that support Thunderbolt 3 (Thunderbolt 4 is still too recent) will not only extend your desktop, but also power your laptop. So if you have one of those gems, you can leave your Specter's power supply at the house.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There are a couple of ways you can connect a larger screen to this monitor. 1) You can use a USB C docking station with the matching ports that are the larger screen. The docking station will have other ports that you may use such as more USB ports. 2) The laptop does have 1 HDMI port for a larger screen.
