I haven't dealt with its first-hand, but know of a guy who did. As a result, he sent it back and is awaiting a new Spectre release mid March to hopefully recover the issue.

Please try again later.Yes when i first purchased it, after a few hours to break it in and setup windows it stopped, occasionally after this i heard it off and on so i got a few rubber risers to allow more airflow underneath the bottom, and it has since stopped, not sure if it was a heat related issue or other, but i can say no performance impact was seen either w/o the whine noise
