“I thought the Spectre was supposed to be HP's premium laptop, but having non-upgradeable RAM soldered on the motherboard and max spec'ed at 16GB is a deal-breaker for me. Will HP consider allowing upgradeable RAM, as per their earlier Spectre laptops?”

HP offers different spectre models that you can customize at your pleasure. But if you are thinking to get a pro laptop for heavy games or heavy work than this is not the right one. It will burn hot and sometimes shutdown due to extreme heat. If you are using it for daily stuff it will be fine
