DirectX is a Graphics card library that comes in multiple versions. Most games will automatically install the version needed for the game, if it doesn't you should be able to download it from Microsoft and install it, unless it is a very old version of DirectX I would verify that the computer meets the graphics card, CPU, RAM, and Drive space requirements of any game you are thinking to install as this system is on the lower side of system specifications and many games will not have a satisfactory experience on this computer.
