“Question Regarding External Hard Drive w/ Windows XP I had an HP die on me, but was able to rescue the hard drive. I can access this hard drive on other computers, via a USB cable and cradle thing I had to order on Amazon, that have Windows XP installed as their OS. Seeing as how only 32gb of memory come with this netbook, I know I will need extra storage. Will I be able to use my old hard drive, externally via USB, on this computer?”

I believe so. We purchased an external hard drive for ours so my son could do some gaming on it. We have had no issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.i have this computer and i operate fully off my external hard drive via USB, because Windows 10 takes up nearly the whole netbook's memory. As long as your programs & files are compatible with Windows 8.1 or higher you should be able to run them perfectly (with the exception of some games and stuff ofc). I run MS Office Pro, Google Drive, GoPro Editor, and games that meet the system requirements off my Seagate FreeAgent-Go 500GB external HD. ~ hope this helps
