QuestionWhat's the quality of this laptop camera? We bought this for school last week, reading 720p, but the best resolution for camera is far from 720p. This looks rough. I have attached photo and video options. How do I resolve this as we just purchased this?

- Answer Hello! Thank you for your question. The HP Stream laptop (11-ak0012dx) is not compatible with Origin with the default operating system Windows 10 S mode. Taking the system out of S mode to Windows 10 Home is free but it is not advised with the specifications of the Stream.

- Answer No, this model is extremely basic and not one I would use to work from home. Look for a model that has an Intel i3 or and Ryzen 3 CPU.

QuestionI'm looking for an additional laptop that is small, lightweight and easy to travel with. I would be mainly using it to download H & R Block tax software to complete my taxes. Would this handle downloading the software?

- Answer I used this to travel with and edit pictures during my trip so I wouldn't get home and have 1000+ photos to go through. I was very easy to travel with and the battery life was good. I didn't really load any software on it but it does have very limited space.

- Answer Hi Dan! Yes, you can use Microsoft Excel and Word on the HP 11-ak0012dx Stream laptop. The laptop actually comes with a 1 month trial for new Microsoft 365 customers which includes MS 365 personal (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). You can renew it for $70 per year at the end of the trial.

- Answer I bought one today 9/27/21. It comes with Windows 10 S 64 bit OS. In the setup, I was given the option to change Windows 10 S to Windows Home 64 bit. Once that change is made, it cannot be undone. Setup recognized the change and suggested I install McAfee which was provided. The change is free. The computer is slow which is not an issue for my application.

- Answer Hi Betty, thank you for reaching out. Good news! Newer printers don't need drivers downloaded to the computer. You can use the HP Smart app on your Smartphone or laptop to get an HP printer on you're network. It's a simple wireless set-up - minutes to siccess. If it's not an HP printer, follow the manufacturer's directions for getting the printer on your network. You can also connect your printer directly to the computer with a USB-A to USB-B cable.
