“I am looking at this laptop as a starting point for writing a book. I like the look, and the 14" screen for easy portability. I do have a desk top so, with a USB drive my book can be transferred or should I look for more memory in a laptop?”

For doing an activity such as typing a book, web browsing and such, this model would work very well! It does not have a lot of storage for programs but a word document like a book would not be very large. I do not think you would have an issue.
